Posted Thu Oct 05, 2017 1:12 pm

Well done, you've made it to the final week!

You only have one lifestyle change left to complete - the most important one! It’s time to make time for yourself. Stressed people sleep less, but you can prevent that by taking time from your busy schedule and dedicating 30 minutes to yourself each day. Try stretching before going to bed, reading a book or taking a bath.

Tell us below what you have found to be the most beneficial way to help you relax before sleep. What are some new techniques you’ve introduced to help you wind down?

Don’t forget to share your experiences below for your chance to win one of 5 x A.H. Beard Sleep Dot, Mini Sleep Trackers and finish logging your progress this week to win one of 4 x Sleep Solutions Packages!

Definitely reading (a physical book not on a screen), once my eyes start to get sleepy it's lights out!

Timing is great for this. Been stressing with my eldest over exams! That's all done and now I CAN relax. (- and I'm pretty sure she can too!)
Think I might chill out with some easy listening music.

I have a fabulous reclining lounge, I can't wait to sit down on it and put my feet up with my dog Cobi on my lap, watching my favourite TV show and just chilling out before bed time. Then I get into my AH BEARD adjustable bed put in into Zero gravity mode and massage for 30 minutes, I'm asleep before I know it.. My sleep cycle app monitors that I have an average of 90%+ sleep every night. The best..

I watch tv and will then read a book. Only recently getting back to book reading but find it fills the gap when cutting screen time

Battled through this epic challenge and still only average sleeping but happy that I have taken the time to try.

Yes, so many of us forget just how important it is to unwind before bedtime and switch off from the world. Our sleep is our time to rest, repair and restore so we need to make sure we do it well. Keep up the good work :) Dr Carmel

It is always difficult to sleep well in times of great stress - like HSC exams. However if we are diligent with our sleep behaviours and ensuring we implement all the ideas of the 6 week sleep challenge then we will definitely give ourselves the very best chance of sleeping well. Enjoy the post-exams relax :). All the best, Dr Carmel

Sounds like you have conquered any sleep issues you may have had :). AH Beard have certainly made getting a good night's sleep more accessible. Their clever implementation of technology has given us great insight on how we sleep and how we can improve our sleep. Sweet dreams, Dr Carmel

Good on you for persevering for the challenge. Hopefully your sleep has improved a little from when you started 6 weeks ago. Often it takes some time to feel like we are improving but by sticking to the behaviours given in the challenge sleep should improve little by little. However, if you find that nothing makes much of a difference perhaps it would be a good idea to chat with your GP as you may have a sleep disorder that you do not know about. There are over 70 sleep disorders and most of them are very treatable, once diagnosed. Good luck :) Dr Carmel
