Welcome to the first week of the 6 Week Sleep Challenge!
We're starting this week by taking a closer look at one of the biggest culprits that affects your sleep - technology! It's time to put that iPhone down!
A short brief on your first challenge: keep phones, computers and TVs out of the bedroom and keep the use of them to a minimum before bed. We know it’s a difficult one, but it’s for your own good.
Is your phone the last thing you look at before you go to sleep?
What app makes it hard for you to break away? If not your phone, what bit of tech keeps you up at night?

It takes me so long to fall asleep I get bored and start scrolling on phone, will have to kick the habit!

I work different shifts from day, afternoon and night. By the time I get home, I want to unwind and usually have a drink and watch a bit of Netflix on my computer...before I know it, it is 2am and I spend the next day sleeping it away!!! Looks like I am going to have to can that habit from now on so I can get a reasonable sleep...such a bad habit!

I work permanent night shift.
I leave my phone during the day in the kitchen so no distractions, actually sleep better during the day now!
Any calls can go to voicemail to be checked later.

I have stopped using technology for up to 2 hours before bed every night. It's taken a couple of weeks but I'm starting to fall asleep sooner. I sit quietly in the lounge room with very little light and just think about the day, the next day or just positive thoughts. The only problem is that I get bored, so I'm going to start reading a novel tonight....I hope that helps!

I am retired when working I was on a 12 hour night shift 2pm to 2am my body clock was all over the place hope this 6 week program will help me get back on track to healthy sleep

This one is probably going to be the hardest challenge of the lot! Plan on logging off in about 5 minutes and will read a book instead! Will see how we go!

Yes I’m guilty of using my phone before sleep. I would say it’s habit more than anything. Late at night it’s mostly Facebook and games. Am now going to try leaving Facebook alone for approx an hour before sleep time.
