Round 7 – Week 5 - You are what you eat! [LOCKED]

It's now time to focus on your diet and how it affects your sleep!
The challenge this week is to stay away from heavy meals and alcohol two hours before bed.
A sweet late night snack may be enjoyable but it’s not really great for your sleep. Have some cherries, they have been proven to relieve insomnia!
You’ll find more tips on what to eat and what to avoid in our blog. Let us know how you improved your diet this week and if it had any effect! http://www.ahbeard.com.au/sleepcoach/yo ... t-you-eat/

I should be fine with this one, I dont eat after dinner and if I do have something its just a cup of caffiene free coffee and that puts me off to sleep.

I have to be careful with tomato based pasta sauces and anything greasy. Acid Reflux will get me every time. So I have learned to avoid them.

Eating ice cream after dinner gives me nightmares and night sweats. A definite no no for me.

I have always noticed an increase in vividness and weirdness of dreams if i eat cheese prior to going to bed. I occasionally do this just to have more vivid and interesting dreams.

My only downfall is when I have that extra hot drink and snack after dinner. I sleep more soundly when I refrain from this bad habit which fortunately only continues for a week or so and then I knock it on the head.

I used to eat a lot before bed because I found it calming / necessary out of comfort and routine. Since starting the challenge I have eaten less and less before bed as I have stopped associating bed with anxiety. Very cool and exciting! If I'm really hungry or get home late I find eating oats before bed isn't too bad in effecting sleep.
