LOCKED TOPIC - 2015: Week 3: Create your sleep sanctuary!

Posted Mon Mar 30, 2015 5:22 pm

It's now time to focus in on that bedroom of yours! Where the magic should be happening (sleep magic that is)

This week is all about creating a pleasant sleep environment - your Sleep Sanctuary!

THE CHALLENGE
Take control of the light, temperature, comfort and sound in your sleep environment.

    1. Black out your room - Draw the blinds, cover computer and alarm lights, consider eyeshade.
    2. Keep it quiet - Shut off noises from the TV, computer, or clocks, pick up some ear plugs if necessary.
    3. Cool Down - Forget the doona and wear breathable pj’s this week (or none at all!)

What have you done to make your bedroom a Sleep Sanctuary? We've got 3 x Aromatherapy Co Therapy Packs to giveaway valued at $150 to our favourite answers!

Congratulations to our three prize winners this week for taking out our second prize giveaway!

Danichi - for the scented candles, we've got another one for you on the way
Tiramisu - for the fresh lavender oil and lavender bunches, you'll love this prize!
blaze - for making sure the Sleep Sanctuary caters to all 5 senses!
Keep your eyes peeled for the next giveaway!

I'm a shift worker who often has to sleep during the day, so believe me, I already have all these points covered!

Week 3: Create your sleep sanctuary!

My sleep sanctuary is perfect; dark, warm and comfortable. My problem is my partners snoring and rolling throughout the night.

Gearing down plan....I'm just about to go for a quick walk around the park, get some aromatherapy candles smouldering, slip into a relaxing bubble bath followed by jumping into my freshly sheeted bed with easy reading magazine...hopefully plenty on zzzz's

I will draw the curtains tonight as I think the street light outside could be the cause of making my room lighter during the night. I don't keep iPad or phone in the bedroom at all and I already cover up the digital clock.

Light is good, sound is good, my challenge will be to not sleep under my doona this week! I always feel cold when I first get into bed and I love the feeling of the heavy doona on me, but I often have very vivid and stressful dreams. Will get rid of the doona and see how we go!

Last year I created my Sleep Sanctuary, block out blinds, new bed linen, painted my room a beautiful peaceful colour. Couldn't afford a new bed but did get new pillows. still not sleeping but I will give week 3 a go and see what happens.
