Week Five of the 6 Week Sleep Challenge is about getting active to burn off that excess energy, particularly if you’ve been sitting in a chair all day. Not only will you sleep more soundly but you’ll also feel more awake during the day.
THE CHALLENGE
Complete 30 minutes of light to moderate exercise every day.
Tell us below how you've found sleep to be affected by physical activity. What type of exercise do you find helps the most? We are giving away an A.H. Beard iComfort pillow valued at $149 for the most creative and original response. For full terms & conditions visit: http://on.fb.me/1jqKJmv

G'day
With reports of a whale in the Bay this morning
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victor ... 6950329335
who needs any other excuse to go for a walk on the sand?
It is easy to walk for 45 minutes but any more than that is a bit beyond me.
We did a 5kms brisk walk one day last week and while it felt good, I wasn't interested in any more walking for a day or so; I think that 5kms a week, or perhaps a bit more, is the optimal distance for me.
Being too enthusiastic one day can cause a backlash the next, but if that whale is still in the Bay tomorrow I will be out whale-spotting again for sure!
Cheers
Kristine

Ive been exercising semi-regularily for the last few weeks but have made sure to exercise nearly every day this week (missed Thursday as my son had been sick through the night so I woke very tired
)
I definately find it easier to get to sleep on nights where I have eaten well and exercised. The only reason why the week wasn't perfect was due to illness - which is just one of those things.
Overall I am definitively feeling more rested.

Hi Margaret,
It's not nice to experience pain when you're trying to get to sleep or during the night. Has this been a long term issue or more recent? What level of firmness and age is your mattress.
Often people who experience pain find they will sleep best on a medium-to-firm mattress, as extra-firm mattresses is likely to put more pressure on parts of the body touching the mattress, while soft mattresses offer less support. This however this comes down to the type of pain experienced as well as personal preference.
We hope you are finding that your sleep has improved over the past 5 weeks.
Cheers,
A.H. Beard

Hi Rach!
Thanks for sharing, we're really glad to hear that you've noticed an improvement in your sleep with the addition of exercise and a healthy eating plan. What type of exercise are you enjoying? It's the simple lifestyle changes that really do make the difference to not only your sleep, but also have a ripple effect into all areas of your health and wellbeing!
Hope you & your son are on the road to recovery and good luck with the final week of the Sleep Challenge!
Restfully Sleeping,

I exercise between 5-7 and was found it interesting that this is good time to exercise. Exercising definitely helps me sleep, Ive been having weird dreams this last week, im putting that down to stress.
