I admit I have a tendency to stay up late on my computer, but my rule is "NOT in bed!" I will SIT on the lounge until my eyes are drooping, set the alarm on my phone, put it on the bedside table (as far away as I possibly can) and go straight to sleep.

This week is going to be a tricky and tough one for me as i need the noise for the computer to sleep. The phone on the bed is something i do also as i have a sleeping program that monitors the movement patterns of my sleep to let me know how my deep sleep is going:

Over the last month my statistics are:
Avg sleep of 6:09hrs a night
Deep sleep of 55% on avg

These are very bad statistics.

Will post after this weeks challenge see if has helped!

Golly gosh this week is going to be extremely hard. I've been finding my mind ticking over with things bugging me at night when I go to bed so I've been taking my mind off these things by scoping out Facebook. Really bad habit, especially when I wake during the night after a bad dream and need to divert my thoughts from it. I will give it a go though, so keep everything crossed :)

I'm only keeping my mobile phone in the room when I need my alarm for work. I'm sleeping much better when I don't have it near me. Amazing what a difference it makes!
I don't tv in my room anymore. That's improved my sleep pattern as well.

Oh hi there sneakyfi!

Oh no not Facebook! Scoping out Facebook to take your mind of things is likely to surface a whole new universe of thoughts floating round in your head, not to mention the fact you are likely to start feeling a little jealous of the stream of photos of friends enjoying holidays. Probably not the best lullaby to go to sleep!

We hope you've managed to ween yourself off a little bit this week, and diverted your thoughts to a good book! Let us know how you go :)

Cheers,

So this wasn't too hard afterall.

I set an alarm on my phone and when it goes off I put it onto the charger and don't use it for the rest of the night.

We don't have a TV in our room but I do use a Kindle reader - as I always read for 20mins before going to sleep I had to keep that. It isn't connected to the internet and isn't backlit so I hope it is okay?

The fibeginning of the week was harder than the end - but I've continued doing the same thing (with the alarm) this week and it actually works. Helps to calm my mind so Im not thinking about so and so's last status of the day etc. Damn Facebook - how did we survive with out it? :P
