Although I'm not a regular coffee drinker, I know the afternoons I feel like I need a pick-me-up (from not getting a good night's sleep!) having a coffee makes you feel more wired and at night, I don't feel like I'm getting sound and restorative sleep! And so the cycle continues... Skipping the afternoon coffee certainly contributes to a better sleep!

Being a coffee lover myself (3-5 a day) this weeks challenge is certainly just that, a challenge! Although improving my sleep is more important to me than my caffeinated kapows throughout the work day so I have cut down to 1 coffee per day :o and make sure it's before midday and no later. I certainly do feel the difference and it's certainly for the better, and it's only just the start! Look out weekend, sleep ins are off the cards this week! :D

For anyone who is interested a friend of mine that's doing the sleep challenge with me forwarded me this flyer on sleep hygiene, I found it really helpful, check it out!

I've never drank coffee in my life, and never want to. I usually try to stay away from caffeinated sodas and I usually drink diet and decaffeinated drinks. But my father likes the caffeinated kind and sometimes that's all that around, so I drink that. Recently I've stopped drinking it and just drink water if there's none without caffeine around. I never knew you could drink caffeine within eight hours of bedtime! I have always stopped consuming caffeine a few hours before bedtime, but I never thought I needed to stop eight hours before!

This week is going to be the most diffifififucult for me I think. I'm a coffee lover from way back!
I do always keep it to a max of two a day and have my last before 11.30am though- so I'm hoping that I don't have to adjust my behavior too much??!!
Has anyone got any tips for how to cut coffee and manage cravings? Good luck everyone during this third week of the challenge

Hey coffee drinkers! (I'm not one of you)
As a ten year old, my mum let me start drinking tea with her. I highly recommend the brand 'Madurah' (found in any supermarket). It has a super low caffeine content (almost nothing) and I am able to go to sleep shortly after having it. Its a black tea, so still feels substantial like a coffee and you can have it with or without milk and/or sugar. Let me know how you go!

I've only ever been a coffee drinker in the mornings anything after lunch time and any hope of sleeping that night is dashed. I must say that these tips have been really helpful. The first week I started this challenge I developed a really bad cold. It was a struggle sleeping because of this but by following the tips they really helped and I surprisingly had good nights sleep. I'm really midful of what I do that could affect how I sleep that night.

I used to be a huge coffee addict and couldn't function without it. I stopped drinking it and literally had withdrawals like a drug addict. after about a week or so, i noticed my sleep improving and my anxiety attacks lessening. It is a drug and people do need to remember that before they over abuse it, can really take a toll on your body.

As a single mum at uni, coffee isn't so much of an issue as coke. Going to limit this though and stop drinking it after about 12:30 (lunch time). I have up on coffee after having my daughter, never got to drink it while it was hot lol :)
