I've tried to cut wine out from Monday - Thursday, as I found that although I might be able to fall asleep quickly, I would wake up in the middle of the night. It's easier to make a habit early during the week, while motivation and will power are still high.

As I eat out a lot (should probably cut down), I've moved away from Thai (which I'm sure those loaded with spices and MSG) to Japanese which is uses way less ingredients. I feel great. I'm so motivated and really enjoying all the tips!!

I've stopped drinking alcohol on a school night and really noticed a difference!

We've already been making a lot of healthy changes to our diets but fuelled by this challenge we concentrated on it even more. We sat down as a family and decided that eating slightly earlier might work for us and so far it has. Not going to bed with a really full tummy just makes getting to sleep more comfortable (does that make sense?)

I always thought that I slept better after an alcoholic drink but it turns out that maybe I don't :?

I have changed what I eat at night. no processed foods no heavy meals and I have started to grow my own veggies and herbs to see if natural foods are my secrete to a better nights sleep. it wont hurt that it is totally healthy either if it does not help my sleeping it will be a great help to my overall health and my wallet the money I will save by growing my own and I do not use chemicals so I know it is safe

I have always eaten a light meal around 6pm, but I didn't know about the protein issue. So am now steering clear of protein after 6pm

I have to say I don't drink much alcohol or have heavy meals unless you go out to a dinner party. its amazing how much better you sleep when you do avoid those things. I have learnt a lot about meals and meal times in the last 12 months after embarking on a health kick and its amazing the changes it makes to your body and sleep patters and night time.

G’Day

This post is about Late Dinners, Good Laughs and other matters:

We went to the Late Matinee of the Rocky Horror Show in Melbourne last Sunday with dinner afterwards at Rydges (who sell the A H Beard Dream Bed which led me to this Challenge!!) in Exhibition Street which turned out to be a late affair due to a very busy theatre crowd delaying our dinner but oh boy! did we sleep well that night!

Week Six reminded us that happy people sleep well, and we were certainly very happy after our long awaited Rocky Horror event which generated more than a few laughs and a lovely dinner with us all feeling very pleased with ourselves.

Really, there is nothing as beneficial as a Good Laugh and being in a theatre with a few hundred other people all out for a good time … and with more than a few wearing their fishnet stockings for the special occasion …

In our busy lives it is easy to overlook the chance for a Good Laugh, and there really is something about the Time Warp which is timeless, and Mike and I even did the heads-through-the-hole picture of Dammit! Janet! mock-up set up in the Lounge Bar. One for the eventual grandchildren to wonder about!!!

And this Challenge has also made me happy, I have certainly improved my quality of sleep over the past six weeks but rather than be at a loss when the Challenge finishes this Friday 27th June, I have made a Note To Self to continue with the good work promoted by A H Beard, being that sleep may come naturally but to get the best sleep we have to help ourselves along.

Thanks to all who have participated in this Challenge, I have enjoyed reading all the posts and I wish you all Bonne Nuit!

Lotsa love

Week 2 is not a big challenge for me but I will certainly be more mindful of what I eat before bed.

Week 2 was a challenge, I work late and eat late. I cut back on my quantities which made it easier for me to fall asleep, however I was still woke up about three or four times a night, but that is normal for me. I will continue to reduce the size of my evening meal and will eat as soon as I get home instead of leaving it to late in the evening. The tips given have been very useful.

I make it a point now not to eat anything after 8pm. That gives me 2 hours before I go to bed. Especially no wine, etc. :D
